Aremcolox™ 502-600 is a new advanced, machinable glass-ceramic
developed by Aremco Products, Inc. for use in electrical/electronic
and high temperature applications to 1100°F (593°C). According to the
company, principal features include outstanding electrical
resistance, low thermal conductivity, high mechanical strength, zero
porosity and ease of machinability using carbide tools.
Specifications include compressive and flexural strengths of 32,000
and 14,000 psi, respectively; a dielectric strength of 380 volts per
mil; dielectric constant of 6.8 at 1 MHz; and thermal conductivity of
4.08 Btu-in/hr-ft
2°F. Aremcolox™ 502-600 is typically used in
high temperature electrical systems.
