HiE-Coat(TM) 840-C, a black, water-based ceramic coating, is now available from Aremco Products, Inc.
HiE-Coat(TM) 840-C, a black, water-based ceramic coating now available from Aremco Products, Inc., demonstrates an emissivity greater than 0.90 at temperatures to 2500F. The emissivity of a material can range from 0.00 to 1.00; a high emissivity material will absorb and effectively re-radiate infrared energy. High-temperature combustion chambers, ovens and furnaces constructed using high-emissivity coatings are more energy efficient and can distribute heat more uniformly. HiE-Coat 840-C is applied to ceramic and refractory surfaces using a sponge brush, roller or conventional spray equipment. The coverage rate is approximately 500 ft(2)/gallon, based on 2 mil dry film thickness. Curing is accomplished in operation or by heating for 1-2 hours at 200F.
