ArmorWorks to Supply Army with Inserts (7/25/06)

July 26, 2006
ArmorWorks has received a contract from the U.S. Army for enhanced side ballistic inserts (ESBIs). The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract represents $543 million in ceramic body armor production for U.S. troops worldwide. "We are pleased to provide U.S. soldiers at home and abroad with this new technology that increases their armor coverage and protection," said Bill Perciballi, chief executive officer and president.

"We're committed to developing technology and delivering a quality product that saves soldiers' lives." The ESBIs use the same advanced armor technologies as the company's small arms protective inserts (SAPIs), and are made for the Interceptor body armor system.
