ASTM Advanced Ceramics Committee Invites Participation In Survey

August 10, 2004
The Advanced Ceramics Committee of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has actively supported the development of over 40 testing standards addressing the characterization of many basic material properties for ceramics and ceramic composites. The advent of many new applications of advanced ceramics has created the need for new consensus testing standards, so the committee is seeking to identify the top priority needs for these standards in each application area, whether in system performance tests or individual material property tests. To accomplish this, the Committee has prepared a 10-question online survey to assess the community's needs. The results of the survey will be used to define and prioritize objectives, lay out development plans, and organize task groups for standards development.

An invitation to participate in the survey is extended to all parties involved in advanced ceramics, including producers, users, testers and academics. The survey can be accessed at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=50458422436 or through Ceramic Industry's website at http://www.ceramicindustry.com.
