Blasch: Nitride-Bonded SiC Parts

February 21, 2006
A new line of high-precision nitride-bonded silicon carbide parts has been introduced by Blasch Precision Ceramics. Blasch's new Nitron™ parts include riser tubes and rotary degassers for molten aluminum, nozzles for copper and aluminum, and desulfurization nozzles for coal burning power plants. Additional products are under development. The new parts are made possible by Blasch's net shape forming process, which enables the manufacture of complex ceramic shapes with varying wall thickness and produces high dimensional accuracy, typically with tolerances better than ±0.5%, eliminating the need for expensive machining or finishing work.
