Burleigh Expands Facilities

July 20, 2000
Burleigh Instruments, Inc. has broken ground on a 16,000-square-foot addition to its existing 18,500-square-foot facility in Fishers, N.Y. The new addition will mainly house the company’s manufacturing operations and is estimated to cost in excess of $1.5 million. It is expected to be complete in the third quarter of the year.

“Our expansion plans are a result of applying our technology from institutional research to higher-growth markets such as fiber-optic telecommunications and biotechnology,” said Dave Farrell, president. “In many cases we need to do business differently to meet the needs of all of our customers. Our new facilities will help us in that challenge.”

The company also plans to add 21 high-tech jobs in the next three years, according to Farrell.
