Caroma Chooses Sacmi Plaster Mold Technology

November 17, 2010

After more than a century, Caroma Dorf has discontinued the use of plaster molds, replacing them with higher performance Sacmi resin molds that can operate at a pressure of 15 bar. Caroma, a member company of GWA Intern. Ltd., has now inaugurated an ALS 150 system at its Sydney plant, which features robotized de-molding and laser-guided vehicle piece transfer.

The technology offers a high automation level of the production cycle, which includes a 90° drying station. In the current configuration, actual piece handling is only required when the supports are loaded on the tunnel kiln cars.
