Centorr Vacuum Industries recently announced that it has expanded its furnace offering for the metal injection molding (MIM) market with the introduction of a new line of lower cost MIM-Vac(TM) custom metal hot zone furnaces. Based on the company's Workhorse(R) metal hot zone design, the MIM-Vac has a number of design improvements specific for use with MIM feedstocks. One improvement is the use of molybdenum hot zones with integrally designed gas-plenum retorts using Centorr's Sweepgas(TM) technology for consistent gas flow dynamics over the parts. A compact furnace layout and construction within a steel framework enclosure ensure fast installation, and a dry mechanical pumping system allows for the clean and efficient handling of any binder.
