Ceradyne, Inc. has received additional orders totaling $17.2 million from government agencies for its ceramic body armor systems, including small arms protective inserts (SAPIs), as well as other body armor systems. Shipments on these new orders will begin immediately and are expected to be completed in the third and fourth quarters of 2004. "We are pleased to continue to receive orders for ceramic body armor systems," said Joel Moskowitz, chief executive officer. "As previously announced, the company is committed to a continuing capacity expansion in its ceramic armor systems product lines for body armor as well as military vehicles."
