Ceradyne's Moskowitz Receives Honorary Doctorate From Alfred

Ceradyne, Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Joel Moskowitz has received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Alfred University in recognition of his distinguished achievements in advanced technical ceramics. The degree was conferred by Jeffrey S. Maurer, Alfred University Trustee, at the university's graduation ceremony on May 14, 2005. Moskowitz graduated from Alfred University with a bachelor's of science degree in ceramic engineering in 1961. "I am honored by this recognition and pleased to receive this degree from my alma mater," said Moskowitz. "Alfred University has played a major role in my life and the success of Ceradyne in developing and commercializing ceramic materials and products for an increasing number of applications for a wide range of industries. And as the premier institution of higher learning focused on ceramics since 1900, Alfred continues to contribute to the growth of this emerging technology."
