Dal-Tile Reports Record Third Quarter Results

Dal-Tile International Inc. has announced record third quarter sales and profits. Sales increased $28.4 million, or 12.9%, to $247.9 million compared to $219.5 million for the third quarter of 1999. On a pro forma fully taxed basis, net income increased $2.7 million, or 17.5%, to $18.1 million, or $0.33 per share, compared to $15.4 million, or $0.28 per share, in the third quarter of 1999. Sales through company-operated sales centers increased 17.5%, while sales to home centers and American Olean distributors were flat versus third quarter 1999. Commercial activity was strong and the company continued to expand its residential business.
