Excellon Automation Co. has reported the delivery of an LVD 2001 DP
PCB/PWB laser drilling system to the SGCI plant in Bellegarde du
Loiret, France, for installation in February 2001. Specializing in
high-tech rigid multilayer PCBs with short delivery times, SGCI is
the largest company of the 10 units owned by the CIRE group
throughout Europe. Developed by Excellon's Advanced Technology
Systems Business Unit, the LVD 2001 DP is a hybrid laser drilling
system with powerful UV and CO2 laser sources. SGCI's machine will be
serviced locally by Excellon France with additional support available
from GmbH in Germany and the Excellon UK office. "CIRE is very
important because it is the largest PCB manufacturer in France," said
Frederic Baradel, general manager, Excellon France. "This sale is
significant for Excellon because it marks the beginning of our laser
equipment sales in France to major independent companies."
