Ferro Corp. recently announced that Roland Simon has been named chief purchasing officer. Simon joins Ferro after a 23-year career with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., where he worked in a variety of locations and positions, most recently as general manager, Chemicals Purchasing. He also served as global purchasing manager for Goodyear’s Services and Retail division; purchasing director for European, Asian and African operations; and business manager and plant manager for operations in Germany, Luxembourg and the UK.
Simon graduated from Washington and Lee University with a bachelor’s degree in physics and engineering. He also holds a master’s of business administration degree from Durham Business School in County Durham, England.
