Friday Fun: "Quotable Quotes"
September 19, 2008
When I was a kid, my favorite part of Reader’s Digest was always “Quotable Quotes,” even if I didn’t always understand what was said. It was comforting to know that there were smart people out there who were on top of things, or at least sounded like they were.
Looking at quotes now is kind of like comfort food for me. After this week’s Wall Street insanity, I fell back on my old habit and found some goodies:
“Every time history repeats itself, the price goes up.”
“Laws go where dollars please.”
“He that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.”
“I never been in no situation where havin’ money made it any worse.”
“I haven’t heard of anybody who wants to stop living on account of the cost.”
“Why is there so much month left at the end of the money?”
