Frisch: Planetary Ball Mills

February 26, 2003
Planetary mills from Fritsch GmbH are effective laboratory mills for rapid batchwise ultrafine grinding down to colloidal fineness of hard to soft materials, dry or in suspension. In addition, the mills offer mixing and homogenizing of emulsions and pastes for mechanical alloying. Fritsch's planetary ball mills work according to the known and reliable planetary system. The sample is primarily crushed by the high-energy impact of grinding balls and in part by friction between the balls and the wall of the grinding bowl. Features include grinding bowls in different sizes and materials; feed quantity up to 1000 ml, a maximum feed particle size of 10 mm; and simultaneous grinding of one to eight samples in a single working process.
