INSIDE CI: Real Partnership

November 1, 2010

This Thanksgiving, I'm especially thankful for my new plumber. That might sound kind of strange, but please keep in mind that I-with my 102-year-old house-can use all the good help I can get. This plumber does not charge extra to send someone out at any hour of the day or night, they're (relatively) on time, and they provide free estimates. They also thoroughly-though not condescendingly-walk me through the various repair/purchase options at my disposal.

Unlike my previous plumber, these folks seem to realize that my little money pit is going to generate plenty of business for them over the course of my ownership. They're not pushy as salespeople, and they don't try to pressure me into buying products that I don't need and am not interested in. I believe they keep my best interests in mind, which makes me feel appreciated as a customer.

Likewise, the companies listed in our annual Equipment Digest continually strive to offer products that best serve the ceramic, glass and related industries. These companies often see the relationship between supplier and manufacturer as a real partnership, and they work closely with manufacturers to develop specific solutions to real-world problems.

The Equipment Digest is a handy year-round reference tool that incorporates definitions and suppliers* for hundreds of different types of machinery and equipment. Products are listed alphabetically, and definitions explain what each product is and how it is used. Supplier listings include contact information so you can easily follow up to request additional information about the products you're interested in. The Equipment Digest is also available and fully searchable online at www.ceramicindustry.com/equipmentdigest.
