Kohler Co. has acquired Englefield Bathroomware, New Zealand's
largest and Australia's second largest manufacturer of acrylic
bathroom fixtures, for an undisclosed sum. Most of Englefield's
innovative acrylic shower enclosures, baths, spa baths, vanities and
accessories will be rebranded as Kohler products. The business will
operate within Kohler Co.'s kitchen and bath group. "The Kohler and
Englefield names are synonymous with innovative product design and
quality, which makes this acquisition a very good fit," said David
Kohler, Kohler Co.'s group president -- kitchen and bath
group. "Together Kohler and Englefield now give consumers in
Australia, New Zealand and nations in the Pacific more choices and
more options for improving the level of gracious living in their
lives. Furthermore, both companies are family run, privately-held
entities, making a 'business-as-usual' transition easy for customers,
suppliers and employees."
