Kyocera Corp. announced that its
environmental protection-themed “Eco-Lessons”-part of the company’s corporate social
responsibility (CSR) activities-have been provided to over 23,000 students at primary
schools as of June 2010. The company plans to offer the lessons at over 250
schools in Japan and China over the
coming year, an increase of 1.5 times the number of the previous year.
The lessons, which are taught
by specially trained Kyocera Group employees, incorporate original
experimentation kits and toys using solar cells, a fun quiz and other
interactive activities so that students can enjoy the learning experience.
Kyocera has been offering the lessons in order to enhance children's awareness
of environmental issues and interest in alternative energy, and to foster an
eco-friendly perspective in the next generation.
