Laguna Clay's Koons Passes Away

Laguna Clay Co. recently reported the unexpected death of Joe Koons, senior sales associate. Joe will be deeply missed by all. He assisted many ceramic artists, potters, teachers and production studios with product selection and technical process problem solving. His co-workers at Laguna would hear his cheerful voice many times each day as he encouraged, “Now there you’ve got it. I knew you could see it through.”

His willingness to educate has seen many artists through that next frightening step to earning a living in ceramics. His well-timed challenges brought out the best in those he advised, and his busy days were sprinkled with compliments, displaying effort beyond what could be expected of his position.

Laguna has passed along this report as news of public services is forthcoming. According to Joe’s daughter, “I'd like everyone to know he was doing what he loved best-watching the Lakers game-and he passed away peacefully in his sleep.” Condolences and communications for the family may be sent to:
