Lapp Insulator Expands Product Line Through Acquistion

Lapp Insulator Co. LLC recently acquired the high-voltage insulator division of Germany's CeramTec AG, a maker of silicone rubber polymer insulators. CeramTec High Voltage Insulator Division specializes in ceramic and polymer insulators used in electrical power transmission, electrical substation and railway applications. By making both the lightweight polymer insulators and its traditional porcelain products, Lapp will greatly expand its product offerings to the global electric power industry. With the acquisition, Lapp becomes the world's second-largest electrical insulator company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
