The upper chamber is rated up to 2200°F for hardening applications while the lower draw chamber heats to 1200°F with a recirculating fan.
Lucifer Furnaces, Inc. recently announced the availability of its Red Devil dual-chamber series of furnaces, an economical choice for R&D facilities and manufacturers that want to bring their heat treating in-house. The space-saving design, with the hardening chamber situated above the drawing oven, minimizes floor space.
Chambers are designed to hold 25 lbs per square foot of hearth area and come standard with a horizontal swing door with safety switch to automatically shut off power when the door opens. The furnaces feature easy-to-replace, heavy-gauge, low-watt-density heating elements regulated with a Honeywell digital temperature controller. The upper chamber is rated up to 2200°F for hardening applications while the lower draw chamber heats to 1200°F with a stainless steel recirculating fan for uniform heat.
Lucifer’s dual-chamber furnaces are available in four standard sizes with chambers from 9 x 12 x 14 in. to 12 x 14 x 24 in. Completely wired to N.E.C., the furnaces are test fired and shipped ready for connection to the main power supply. Available options include an over-temperature safety system, quench tank and vertical lift door.
