Morgan Advanced Ceramics - New Bedford (MAC-New Bedford), formerly
Alberox, recently expanded its manufacturing and engineering
operations. The expansion, triggered by growing market demand for the
company's application engineering expertise, includes installing
advanced manufacturing equipment as well as expanding its engineering
staff. Manufacturing additions include four new furnaces (two vacuum,
two automated continuous), another new kiln for the firing of high
alumina ceramics, a vertical machining center, a fully automatic
furnace for metal injection molding, and three new injection-molding
machines. Additionally, MAC-New Bedford is currently in the process
of installing a class 10,000 clean room. The company also added five
new engineers to its engineering department in anticipation of high
demand for its custom engineered products.
