October 19, 2009
According to a new report, it could be 2011-2012 before magnesium oxide sales volumes rebound to 2005-2007 tonnage levels.

According to a new report from MarketPublishers entitled “Magnesium Oxide (MgO) Market Research Report 2009,” in 2008, many magnesium oxide manufacturers announced plans for production volume growth, new plant construction, and diversification, as well as the output resumption of earlier produced MgO grades. However, in 2009, the output of magnesium oxide has declined dramatically due to a reduction in demand. According to the report, it could be 2011-2012 before magnesium oxide sales volumes rebound to 2005-2007 tonnage levels.

Magnesium oxide is used mainly as a refractory material in furnace linings for producing iron and steel, nonferrous metals, glass, and cement. Visit www.marketpublishers.com for additional details.
