Mazanec Named Corporate Director of Ferro EH&S (posted 11/21/08)

Ferro Corp. recently announced that Mark R. Mazanec will join the company on January 2, 2009, as corporate environmental health and safety director. Mazanec brings more than 22 years of legal, business and senior management experience to his position at Ferro. Most recently, he served as a partner in the Environmental Practice Group at Baker & Hostetler, a national law firm based in Cleveland, Ohio.

At Baker & Hostetler, Mazanec focused on EH&S compliance counseling and auditing, brownfield redevelopment, business transactions, and regulatory enforcement defense. Although he originally joined the firm in 1988, Mazanec held a broad range of management roles at GE Lighting from 1994 until 2001, including global EH&S counsel, manager of EH&S for GE Lighting Europe, six sigma quality leader and North American supply chain manager. He started his career in 1983 at the former Standard Oil Co. of Ohio as a process design engineer before going to law school.
