MPIF: Publication On Powder Metallurgy, Particulate Materials
May 16, 2005
"Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials Processing," by Randall M. German, is now available from the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). The 536-page book is a sequel to German's "Powder Metallurgy Science," published in 1984 with a second edition in 1994. The new book is written from a perspective based on the laws of physics, chemistry, mechanics and dynamics, thermodynamics, kinetics, and chemical engineering as applied to powder metallurgy (P/M) and particulate materials. Subjects cover techniques to fabricate engineered products using principles ranging from materials synthesis to industrial engineering. Although there is a heavy emphasis on classical powder metallurgy, topics on the treatment of composites, technical ceramics and related materials are also covered.
