The new converter is ideal for use in digital consumer home electronics such as televisions, DVD players and more.
Murata Electronics North America has introduced its new MPD6S022S DC-DC converter. Developed with advanced circuit design techniques, the *022S offers quality performance at a low cost. This point-of-load (POL) non-isolated converter measures 21 x 9 x 21 mm in a SIL package, minimizing layout real estate. It also delivers 10.8 W with high efficiency (up to 95%) and zero de-rating. These attributes, combined with the wide 3 to 5.5 V input voltage range, wide adjustable 1.1 to 3.6 volt output range and 0 to 70ºC operating temperature range, make it ideal for use in digital consumer home electronics such as televisions, DVD players and more.
Another benefit of this design is that the DC-DC converter does not require an external capacitor, saving valuable board space. Conventional solutions must include large external capacitors to minimize a converter’s output-voltage variation in response to load-current changes.
“Murata’s 20 years of power supply manufacturing experience are evident in this miniaturized and economical DC-DC converter,” said Bill Kutsche, group product manager of module products for Murata Electronics North America. “The new MPD6S022S highlights the strength of Murata’s commitment to research and development in areas of circuit design and ferrite and ceramic materials.”
