OXY-GON: New Model Hot Press Furnace

OXY-GON Industries, Inc. recently announced the shipment of a new furnace, the OXY-GON 40-Ton Dual Action System, model FR730, to Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory. This state-of-the-art hot press vacuum and controlled atmosphere furnace is capable of simultaneous pressing from top and bottom of the load with independently-servo-controlled hydraulic cylinders. The unit has a 2200C maximum operating temperature and can operate at high vacuum levels, or with hydrogen or inert gas atmospheres. Other features include a 9-in. diameter by 14-in. high usable heat zone of all graphite construction. The furnace is used for multipurpose compaction of ceramic compounds, including boron carbide.
