Paragon Industries recently released a ceramic fiber lid for glass kilns. Optional on firebrick kilns, the ceramic fiber lid on top-loading kilns includes a stainless steel cover to protect the lid top. The heating elements are threaded through a pinless element groove in the ceramic fiber.
Marc Hines, a glass artist in Tigard, Ore., received the first lid prototype. “As the first tester of the ceramic fiber lid for the Fusion 10, I have been using it with excellent results for many months,” he said. “The ceramic fiber lid has so many advantages over the original brick lid that I will always use fiber lids in the future.”
