Polychem Corp. recently received approval (number AAR 53-B) from the
Association of American Railroads for its polyester strapping (5/8 x
0.39 in.) used to package brick cubes shipped in railcars.
Polyester strapping has recently replaced steel in many locations due
to its lower cost, lower weight and safety reasons. Polychem offers
both a slit sheet and a single strand extruded product. The slit
sheet product (MPC2038) offers superior split resistance and is
designed for use in friction sealing heads. The single strand product
(MPC 5838) is ideal for heat seal heads and hand-tool applications.
