Russell L. Crane, PPG Industries' senior vice president of human
resources and administration, has announced his retirement, effective
at the end of the year. "In his 37 years with PPG, Russ has had a
tremendous impact on our organization," said Raymond W. LeBoeuf,
chairman and chief executive officer. "Russ has been a change agent
in so many ways - diversity, talent management and innovation. He
created a new focus on the importance of developing our people,
resulting in strengthened employee development programs." Crane
joined PPG as a labor relations assistant at the former Crystal City,
Mo., glass plant in 1963.
