Premier Mill offers two types of colloid mills -- the KSIF and the
KCD. The KSIF type uses smooth Stellite faces and operates by
application of tremendous hydraulic shear imparted to a thin film of
material as it pushes through the variable gap arrangement. Ultra-
fine suspensions and stable emulsions are possible. The KCD type
colloid mill imparts mechanical grinding action through the use of
single or multi-grit silicon carbide stones and a variable gap
between the rotating and stationary working surfaces. Superior
results can be achieved when refining granular suspensions, seeds or
products requiring mechanical particle size reduction.
