The U.S. Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) recently began
requiring all coal, metal and non-metal mines to establish a system
of monitoring miners' noise exposure. As a result of MSHA's new
standards, Quest Technologies has released "Occupational Noise
Exposure in U.S. Mines," a free application note directed at the
mining industry and health and safety professionals responsible for
noise exposures in mining applications. The application note
highlights root causes and risks associated with hearing loss while
providing practical solutions to assist in efforts to reduce harmful
noise levels affecting miners' hearing.
