Sacmi Supplies Betta Sanitaryware With New Equipment

January 27, 2005
Betta Sanitaryware of South Africa plans to increase its production following the purchase of equipment from Sacmi Whiteware. Betta's production capacity will rise from 1 million pieces per year to 1.5 million, beginning February 2005, with more than 160 workers involved in production. The expansion includes the installation of a third STK 260/78 tunnel kiln, an ALS150 casting machine for the production of washbasins and pedestals, an AVE040 casting machine for the production of WCs with stick-on rim, and two AVM150 casting machines for the production of WCs with stick-on rim (robotized demolding and sticking operations). For the glazing stage, Betta has chosen the robotized glazing line and two robotized siphon glazing machines made by Gaiotto. With this investment, Betta Sanitaryware aims to consolidate its position as a leader in the South African market.
