Sacmi Supplies Tile Production Plant For Jsc Keramin

February 16, 2004
At the end of 2003, the Sacmi Group signed a contract for the supply of a complete tile production plant with Jsc Keramin of Saint Petersburg, Russia. This new line, which will provide an output capacity of 6200 m2/day of double fire 200 x 300 mm wall tile, consists of a spray drier with an evaporating capacity of 5200 litres/h, three fully overhauled PH980 presses from another Jsc production plant, a horizontal drier and a biscuit kiln. Tiles exiting the kiln will be handled by suction cup devices and stored on special racks, then sent by elevator cars to the two glazing lines (one stand-by, one operative). The glazing line is connected, apart from an intervening roller rack, directly to the glaze kiln. To complete the plant, Sacmi is also supplying a Master sorting system and an automatic palletizer. The plant is expected to become operative in early 2004.
