SCHOTT: Optical Glass Types

SCHOTT North America, Inc. recently announced the availability of new lead- and arsenic-free glass types for use in optical systems for digital cameras, camcorders and projection units. Glasses free of both lead and arsenic are designated as N glass and are more environmentally friendly and more chemically stable than other forms of glass. The company also announced High Transmission (HT) advancements to well-established high index N-SF6 and N-SF7 glass types. The HT forms are specifically developed for use in digital projection and in industrial and consumer optics for imaging applications.
