Scientific Dust Collectors recently announced the availability of A Scientific Review of Dust Collection
, an 80-page manual that offers solutions for fire and explosion hazards in dust collectors. The piece includes a complete chapter on fires, explosions and other hazards. A potential dust explosion hazard exists wherever combustible dusts accumulate, are handled or are processed. A "relative explosion hazard" is a function of the ease of ignition and the severity of the resulting explosion. The severity of the explosion is determined by the maximum pressure development.
