Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has introduced its new SALD-7001 laser diffraction particle size analyzer, which is designed for measurement of super-fine particles. The SALD-7001 features a violet semiconductor laser (405 nm wavelength) and high-sensitivity, strategically placed photo sensors, which can detect wide-angle scattered light signals up to 60 degrees. The measuring range of the SALD-7001 is 0.015 to 500 um, with excellent resolution in the submicrometer range. The single-violet laser light source of the SALD-7001, coupled with a single optical system, enables accurate size determination of super-fine particles by the laser diffraction method. For optimum sampling, the system offers a choice of a flow cell, batch cell or high concentration cell, depending on application requirements.
