Thermal Technology: Diffusion Bonding Hot Presses (posted 12/3/09)

Thermal Technology recently delivered two diffusion bonding hot presses to a major medical company. The systems operate at 1450°C with a total force of 100 tons. The presses feature 24 x 24 x 30 in. molybdenum hot zones and are capable of diffusion bonding multiple parts in one load. Each press measures approximately 9 1/2 ft wide, 15 ft deep and 12 1/2 ft high.

“The diffusion bonding process is becoming more widely used for medical and heat exchanger applications,” said Matt Mede, president, CEO and co-owner of Thermal Technology. “This product delivery firmly positions Thermal Technology as a provider of large-scale production presses for this demanding application.”
