Tosoh Realigns and Enhances Global Quartz Operations

Tosoh Corp. has transferred the sales function of its silica glass materials to its Quartz Division from Tosoh’s wholly-owned subsidiary Nippon Silica Glass Co., Ltd. (NSG), as of October 1, 2000. With the aim of further enhancing Tosoh’s worldwide silica glass material line of business, Tosoh Quartz Division will sell and market silica glass materials to the global market, including member companies in the Tosoh Quartz Group. NSG will, however, continue the manufacturing and sales of quartzware.

Along with this transfer in assignment, quartz material producer NSG Yamaguchi Co., Ltd., was renamed Tosoh SGM Corporation as of the same date. Tosoh SGM’s Yamaguchi site is a producer of high-quality synthetic silica glass materials for the optical and lithographic industry, as well as flame fused quartz materials used in the manufacture of fabricated quartz products for the semiconductor industry.
