W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. has introduced GORE-TEX(R) TriGuard(TM)
gaskets, a new product grouping designed for positive sealing of
aggressive fluid piping applications on fragile flanges or flanges
with irregularities, where bolt torque and gasket compression stress
must be limited. A unique gasket construction technique with 100%
expanded PTFE material combines the sealability characteristics of
elastomers with the temperature and chemical resistance of PTFE.
Reliable sealing is achieved at very low gasket compressions (as low
as 250 psi for liquids and 1500 psi for gases), and the product's
high creep resistance reduces retorquing.
