Worthington BeamAlloy Corp.: Commercial Coating Service Center

October 22, 2002
Worthington BeamAlloy Corp., a division of Worthington Industries, recently announced the opening of a commercial coating service center specializing in the treatment of precision engineered parts and manufacturing tooling. The service center offers a variety of metallic, nitride and oxide coatings, all deposited by the company's patented ion beam enhanced deposition (IBED) process. Unlike conventional coating processes, BeamAlloy's IBED process is performed in a vacuum at temperatures that do not exceed 200F, guaranteeing that components do not soften or change dimension. The original surface finish of the component is maintained without the need for any re-polishing after coating.
