ZIRCAR Refractory Composites has introduced refractory sheet cloth
and tape. According to the company, its refractory sheet cloth and
tape are ceramic fiber reinforced alumina textile-like products
scientifically engineered for use in the most demanding industrial
applications. Containing no asbestos or toxic materials, they
reportedly have a maximum use temperature of 1300°C (2370°F) and offer
the strength, durability, flexibility and versatility required by
many high temperature applications. The high alumina content makes
them highly resistant to many environments, including molten
aluminum, as well as many types of fuel oils. When hardened with AL-
Hard surface treatment, the company reports its refractory cloth and
tape become "rock hard" for greater resistance.
