Quantachrome Instruments will hold a short course, "Fine Particle & Porous Materials Characterization," April 8-9, 2003, in Rosemont, Ill. The seminars will highlight the most important methods of such investigations, state-of-the-art technologies, and the underlying principles of measurement and calculation. The material textural properties covered will include surface area; micro-, meso- and macropore size; density; porosity; and particle size. Attention will be given to proper sample preparation, method selection, data interpretation, sources of error and avoiding common pitfalls.
