MoreTaki Negas, Ph.D., vice president of technology at Refractron Technologies Corp., has been awarded the Spriggs Phase Equilibria Award by the American Ceramic Society. Negas was recognized for a technical paper entitled "Phase Relations, Crystal Chemistry, and Dielectric Properties in Sections of La2O3 - CaO - MgO - TiO2," which was published in the Journal of Solid State Chemistry. Negas, who joined Refractron last year, earned his doctorate from The Ohio State University, master's of science from Miami University of Ohio and bachelor's of arts from Washington University in St. Louis. He was a postdoctoral fellow for two years with the National Research Council/National Bureau of Standards, which is now NIST.
