Resco Products, Inc. has acquired the assets of New Castle Refractories Co., including its plants located in New Castle, Pa.; Newell, W.V.; and Massillon, Ohio. New Castle Refractories manufactures brick and special shapes in silicon carbide, mullite, extra-high alumina, clay-graphite, cordierite, clay and insulating compositions. In addition, Resco recently announced its acquisition of Refco, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa., with an operating plant in Wellston, Ohio. Refco manufactures clay-alumina monolithics and pre-cast shapes for a wide variety of applications in both steel and non-steel industries.

“The Refco transaction, coupled with the New Castle Refractories acquisition, results in significantly expanded product lines and new customers and markets for Resco,” said William K. Brown, Resco’s president and chief executive officer.
