Retsch: Laboratory Jaw Crushers

Retsch recently introduced the newest product in its line of laboratory jaw crushers. The BB 51 jaw crusher is useful in reducing very hard or brittle laboratory samples from 35 to <0.5 mm in one step. It is used specifically for processing stone, minerals, ores, glass, ceramics, construction materials, brittle metal alloys, slag, synthetic resins and many other hard or brittle substances. With its small footprint and dust-tight housing, this jaw crusher easily fits on a laboratory bench. As the sample passes through the fill hopper, the elliptical motion of the moving arm applies pressure to crush the sample. As soon as the sample particles are reduced, they move to a removable receiver tray that is located inside a drawer for safety purposes. Samples up to 1000 ml can be crushed to analytical fineness. The BB 51 is available with the grinding chamber made of manganese, stainless steel, wear-resistant tungsten carbide, or heavy metal-free zirconium oxide.
