Retsch: Planetary Ball Mill

Retsch, Inc. recently showcased its bench top planetary ball mill, PM 100, at Pittcon 2005. The PM 100 accepts one grinding jar from 12 to 500 ml, available in six different materials. With its powerful drive and speeds up to 650 rpm, samples can be ground on a continuous basis down to the micron range and below. The mill's innovative free force compensation sockets achieve automatic compensation of vibrations, enabling the mill to run unsupervised during typical long-term grinding operations. In addition, the mill features the company's patented easysafe clamp; a convenient operation display for parameter setting and control, with additional information on drive work load, energy input and service issues; a memory for 10 parameter combinations; a delayed start feature; and a motor driven cover lock.
