Saint-Gobain Abrasives recently announced that it has been awarded the Customer Focused Quality (CFQ1) Award by W.W. Grainger, Inc. The annual CFQ1 Award is presented to a select group of suppliers out of the thousands of top-quality companies Grainger works with worldwide. For 2002, only 26 suppliers were selected as having achieved the level of performance required to earn Grainger’s top award. Saint-Gobain received this award for the second consecutive year, and is the only abrasives supplier to achieve this recognition. When determining which suppliers deserve CFQ1 recognition, performance evaluations are based on criteria including cost improvements, delivery, quality, product information, management commitment and responsiveness. To make the final cut, suppliers must have attained a level of performance satisfying Grainger’s stringent requirements in all these areas.
