Saint-Gobain and NSG Group Pursue Joint Expansion in Brazil

Cebrace Cristal Plano Ltda has announced plans to build a new float glass plant in Bahia State, in northeastern Brazil. The new facility will be the sixth float line owned by Cebrace, a joint venture between Saint-Gobain Glass and NSG Group in Brazil. It is expected that the project will enable Cebrace to serve its customers more effectively in this fast-growing region.

The plant will be capable of producing 600 tons of flat glass per day to supply the Brazilian construction and automotive markets. Scheduled to come on stream in the first quarter of 2013, the production facility will further consolidate Cebrace’s geographic coverage of the Brazilian market, where it already has four float lines in the southeast (including one under construction) and one in the south.
