Saint-Gobain Quartz: Vitroceramic

MICAVER(R) HT is a new moldable vitroceramic from Saint-Gobain Quartz that combines the benefits of plastics and ceramics. The new material features plastic's "moldability" and the ability to integrate inserts (metal or ceramic parts) directly during molding. This 100% mineral material has been developed for use in making ready-to-use parts with complex shapes, without requiring any subsequent operations. At the same time, MICAVER HT has ceramic's ability to withstand high temperatures (up to 700C, continuously) while being easy to implement. The material can take the form of machinable "rough pieces," but it can also be molded directly to suit the application. Easy to use, MICAVER HT can be adapted to either job lots or mass production. It is also waterproof and does not mark hot glass.
